Getting healthy...


I have gotten to a point in my life where I really want to get healthy. It's not like I've gained a significant amount of weight since I got married...only about 5 lbs, but I really want to start loosing weight and getting healthy. I've said this for years and I've tried. But never really followed through. I guess what made me realize I need to do this is because I want to start a family. I want to have children with my husband. I'm not saying that I couldn't do that now, however, I could, but I wouldn't be healthy. Having a baby means gaining weight. I would like to loose some pounds and learn to eat healthy and exercise and then have a baby!

So what am I going to do?

1. Well I've already started counting my calories! I'm using the app My Fitness Pal.

 It's the best app ever! So easy to keep track of your food and exercise! Does anyone else use it? Wanna be my friend and keep me accountable??

2. Couch to 5 K


Have you heard of it? It's basically a program that will help you run a 5 k in 8 weeks! I've tried it before and the only reason I stopped was because I hurt my knee! Well this time I'm going to complete it! I've had running a 5k on my bucket list for a while and I'm going to accomplish it this year! I want to do a run on Thanksgiving...I know that's not enough time...but I can walk what I can't run. But on New Years Day there is a 5k in MD...Hubs and I are gonna run it...I think it will be a fantastic way to start the new year!

So here's to a new me :)

I also do C25K but I'm stuck between week 3 and 4. I re-did week 3 and instead of the 6th time doing that I accidentally did week 4 and almost died. What I was doing did not constitute running. So I'm stuck and I dunno where that's going... but I'm still trying. I want a family too so that's why I'm trying to lose those last 20+ lbs to goal. We'll just have to motivate each other! :)
